While at my parents house last week I discovered that one of our family friends had dropped off a wedding gift for Mr. Kitten and me! I REALLY wanted to tear it open the moment I discovered it, but since the gifts are for us as a couple, I restrained myself. I had to wait over a week to see Mr. Kitten and open the gift, but today we finally got to unwrap it!

It's a set of personalized mugs with our initials and wedding date! It's not from our registry and we love it! What a thoughtful gift! The company that makes them is called
Rust Designs, they make personalized dinnerware and other items. I am totally going to copy this idea and give these as a gift at the next wedding I go to.

Getting gifts from outside the registry can be a bit scary. You want to love and put to use wedding gifts that you receive, but if the gift giver's taste doesn't match with yours, that can be difficult. On the other hand, is always nice to get an unexpected gift that you love. Have you been pleasantly surprised by a non-registry gift?
