Our Wedding Venue

The view from the deck of the Grand Old House

I have been blogging about the wedding for a while now, but have yet to talk about the location of our wedding and reception!

We are getting married at the Grand Old House, a 100 year-old coconut plantation-turned restaurant overlooking the ocean. The Grand Old House is a popular spot for anniversaries, weddings, and other special occasions in Grand Cayman. When I was researching wedding destinations, I came across this "Real Wedding" on The Knot. I loved its elegant, dinner-party atmosphere, it came across as simple and not stuffy.

The deck of the Grand Old House

In July I visited Grand Cayman and saw the Grand Old House for myself. The ocean views are spectacular and I immediately decided we would have both our ceremony and reception on their seaside deck, instead of on the beach. I really want our ceremony to be private and special, so the thought of having gawkers, children splashing around in the water, and Joe Shmo in his Speedo all around Mr. Kitten and I when we say our vows made the decision to get married on the deck an easy one!

Set up for cocktail hour

How did you know your ceremony/reception spot was "the one?"
