"But it's for the wedding!" Strikes Again!

Today I signed up for a second gym membership. Yes, you heard me right, I am currently a member of TWO gyms. You're probably thinking that I'm some kind of exercise manic--but that couldn't be further from the truth! I HATE working out! But I'm trying really hard to tone up before I have to face my wedding guests not only in my body-hugging Lia dress, but in a swimsuit as well (eek!)!!

I already belong to a gym in Austin, but I split my time pretty evenly between Austin and San Antonio (where Mr. K lives). I wasn't able to keep up my workout regimen in San Antonio without a gym to go to, so I joined Mr. K's gym. The monthly fee is quite steep, and normally I wouldn't splurge on something like a second gym membership, but I seem to be rationalizing every big purchase lately with the mantra "But it's for the wedding!"

Allow me to let you in on other large purchases I have rationalized with this handy little number:
--New running shoes
--Teeth whitening
--Dance lessons
--Sunless tanner
--Fancy sunblock
--Lots and lots of dresses (for showers and other wedding events!)
--Lots of shoes to go with said dresses
--A personal trainer at my Austin gym
--An Aveda facial
--Fancy conditioner
--An absurd amount of crafting materials

I would add the costs up, but I think I might have a heart attack! I hope you're getting the picture though. And don't think for one second that Mr. K is any better! He is doing the same thing, including going to an overpriced salon to get his hair cut ($60 to trim a guy's hair? Really?). For some reason the wedding makes us feel like we have a free pass to buy pretty much whatever we want! We are definitely instituting a strict budget after the wedding!

What over-the-top purchases have you made "for the wedding"?

I do this all the time: that is how I justify every purchase I make! I want to get my teeth whitened, too. What's the most effective way?

According to Mr. K, Night White (bleaching trays that you wear at night). He can do it for you at a discount at the clinic! :) I am getting it done in March!
